The artist, illustrator, and art advocate was actively involved with public art initiatives as a Commissioner for the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and the chair of the Arts and Furnishing Committee for the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. She also designed the angel form for two different public art programs that adorned Los Angeles with colorful larger-than-life angel statues decorated by local artists.

Hundreds of enthusiastic artists from around the world gathered (in time, not space) last week for a historic event. Highlights included copying a borrowed Bouguereau, discussions on the past and future of Realism, and so much more.

Culture and legacy, as well as social injustice, spirituality, and family, are among the themes of these portraits and narrative scenes; in them, the artist uses historical references as both reminders of the past and predictions of the future.
