The 41st annual Coeur d’Alene Art Auction is set to occur at Reno’s Grand Sierra Resort, July 25, 2026. Over the past 20 years, this event has generated more than $400 million in sales of top-quality paintings and sculpture reflecting the American West, both historical and contemporary.
Auction partner Mike Overby stresses the significance of the early casting of Frederic Remington’s most iconic sculpture, “The Broncho Buster #2.” Made in 1895, it is expected to fetch $600,000–$900,000.
Other historical masters represented in this year’s sale include Charles Russell, Oscar Berninghaus, Eanger Irving Couse, Joseph Henry Sharp, Frank Tenney Johnson, Edgar Payne, John George Brown, Armin Hansen, Thomas Hill, William Herbert Dunton, and Rockwell Kent.
Collectors of sporting art will surely admire the auction’s superb examples by Bob Kuhn, Philip R. Goodwin, Carl Rungius, and Ogden Pleissner. Among the Native American masters represented are Oscar Howe, Earl Biss, Allan Houser, and Fritz Scholder.
