Western Art on View > InSight Gallery is preparing to unveil “When the Dust Settles,” an exhibition of new works by Rachel Brownlee and Abigail Gutting, two artists committed to portraying the West with honesty, technical mastery, and emotional depth.
Both see the region as fully alive, highlighting its people, animals, and landscapes as exemplars of heritage, perseverance, and connection.
Rachel Brownlee is a fifth-generation Nebraska rancher who makes detailed black-and-white drawings in charcoal and graphite that possess the richness, scale, and presence often associated with oil paintings. Her colleague Abigail Gutting uses oil paint to create scenes filled with movement, atmosphere, and life. She was powerfully influenced by her veterinarian father, who helped her acquire an intimate understanding of both domestic live-stock and wildlife.
